The totally unexpected, upset victory of Aaron Taylor-Johnson for “Nocturnal Animals” (pictured above) means all bets are off for the rest of the evening. Or are they? One thing is for sure it stops the “Moonlight” juggernaut in its’ tracks. And yes, that is the evening’s Best Supporting Actor on a toilet.
Jimmy Fallon is so quiet, it’s almost like he’s not there. Maybe this will propel Taylor-Johnson into the Oscars. He was totally shocked at his win, of course. Totally non-verbal stumblefuck speech. He’s British btw.
And so, when Sarah Paulson wins Best Actress for playing Marcia Clark on TV in the “People v. OJ Simpson” one as an esteemed Oscarologist (moi) heaves a sigh of relief. THAT was an expected, and deserved win. Then”OJ” wins Best Limited or Mini-Series that was also expected. And Phew!
I’m not covering the TV side of things because I have to type and upload the pictures so fast. If I skip the TV awards(mainly), it gives me the time I need to focus on the film side .
