a.k.a. "The Oscar Messenger"

manchester-by-the-sea-5The Writers Guild just announced their nominations and with yet another Industry Guild announcing we can see just who is in within the Business of Show and who is out. Left out again are Oscar-seekers “Jackie,” “Lion”, “Silence.” Just like they were at the ACE Eddies yesterday. Which is the all important Film Editors Guild.

Some films may not have been elegible because they may not have used a Writers Guild contract. Not always as predictive of the Oscars as the ACE Eddies, they are nevertheless worth noting.

Also, “Loving” was left out of the ACE Eddies, but turns up here! Confusing isn’t it? Imagine how the Oscar voters themselves feel!

But “Jackie” keeps being MIA. Though it was my own personal #1 film of the year!

And “Deadpool”????? Are they kidding????
